Mommy duties never end for Eva Mendes!
The actress, 50, who shares daughters, Esmeralda, 9, and Amada, 8, with her partner Ryan Gosling, showed off how she travels with her girls — and their assortment of stuffed animals!
“Sooooo I guess they’re a significant part of my carry on now? Is this the new norm?” Mendes wrote over an image shared to her Instagram Stories on Tuesday, Aug. 20. The selfie showed the mother of two sitting on an airplane holding on to her children’s stuffed animals.
Her caption was followed by several emojis — including surprised faces, a laughing emoji and a monkey covering its mouth.
Mendes and Gosling, 43, are seldom photographed out together, but earlier this month, the couple made a rare public appearance at the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris. The two watched the dressage individual Grand Prix freestyle at the Chateau de Versailles before making their way to the women’s uneven bars final at Bercy Stadium.
Their daughters joined Mom and Dad for a day of gymnastics as well.
Despite Mendes and Gosling being A-list stars, their kids could care less about their fame, Gosling previously confessed. When Mendes landed a role on the hit children’s animated series Bluey, the parents thought it would go over well with their girls.
However, speaking to PEOPLE in May, Gosling said, “They don’t care.”
“We both thought it was going to be huge,” he added of Mendes voicing a yoga instructor in a 2021 episode.
“They didn’t like it,” he told PEOPLE. “They were like, ‘Fast-forward through that part!’ ”
In a separate interview for PEOPLE’s Beautiful Issue in May, Mendes opened up on how supportive Gosling has been for her throughout the years.
“I’m not going to tell you that but in all the ways I need to be supported,” she said after briefly discussing why she called him her “Cuban Papi” on Instagram.
“He’s got me in all the ways,” she added.
Mendes and Gosling met while filming The Place Beyond the Pines in 2011, playing a couple who had an infant son. After welcoming children of their own, the Hitch actress took a step back from the spotlight to focus on their family.
“It was the easiest decision I’ve ever made,” she told PEOPLE in the May interview. “I was older and I knew that my kids are going to be little once, and whatever I do or don’t do right now is going to affect them the rest of their life.”
